New this year: Chip timing by South Bend Chip Timing!
We will have early and race day packet pickups. Early pick-up will be in the Hammes Bookstore on Notre Dame campus, map here . Race day packet pickup will be in McCourtney Hall, 54417 Leahy Dr, Notre Dame, IN 46556, map here . Inside each packet will be a waiver (for those who did not do the electronic waiver), course map, schedule of events, your bib, and pie/coco wrist band.
All participants must sign a waiver. You can do this online or onsite. All children 12 and under must have a parent or guardian present to sign a participation waiver.
For Race Day the best areas for parking will be near McCourtney Hall building in the Library Lot at 54418 Leahy Dr. Notre Dame, Indiana 46556. Other lots that are a short walk from McCourtney include: Bulla lot D, Dunne lot B, Grace lot B, and Wilson lot B and D. Please see campus map here .
The day before the race, we will email another reminder. If the weather becomes an issue, we will cancel the race, but all non-race activities such as the science demos, lab tours, pie/coco serving, and pi reciting contests will still be held. Since this is a charity race, we cannot refund your registration fee if the race is cancelled due to weather. Thank you for your understanding.
There will be medical support at the main event site in the case of any injuries.
You will have bananas and water at the aid stations. After finishing the race, you will be served pie and hot coco in exchange for your wristband that is in your packet.
Your results will be posted online and be available to yourself and other runners. We will be using CHIP TIMING for the first time in 2018! For results we will categorize runners into the following age categories: under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50 and above for both men and women. Prizes will be given to the top three overall male and female for both the 5k and 10k races!!
Tag your photos and updates with the hashtag #ndpiday5k2020.
Are there any prizes?
Yes, there will be prizes for the top three place men and women in the 5K and 10K races!
Can I bring my dog to the event?
You can definitely bring your furry friend onto campus and among the outdoors. There will be absolutely NO DOGS in buildings or in the race (5K and 10K), except for certified service dogs. This is to ensure we follow courtesy rules of ND building facilities as well as for the safety of other runners and your pets.
Can I run with a stroller?
Yes, for walking. For running, you must be in the back of the start up.
Where can I spectate?
Anywhere as long as you do not interfere with any of the runners or walkers on the course. e.g. no selfies in the middle of the path.
Will any of the girls from Harrison Primary be running at the event?
Yes, some will, but not the whole team. Most of these girls are in the Boys and Girls Club Program, because they have no place to go until their guardians are home after work. Weekends become difficult to arrange transportation and guardians to be with the girls.
Do I need to be registered to participate in the science activities before the race?
No! Anyone and everyone is welcome to participate :)
Can I have more pie and coco?
Yes. We will have extras for spectators or runners/walkers who want more than just one slice to purchase.
